Taxonomy
Caryosyntrips serratus was named by Daley and Budd (2010). Its type specimen is ROM 57161 and is a compression preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Raymond Quarry, Fossil Ridge, which is in a Delamaran deep-water shale in the Burgess Shale Formation of Canada.

A pair of ventral spines extends from the ventral surface of each podomere. Appendages have a convex bell-shaped proximal margin, a terminal spine protrudes from the distal end in some species (emended from Daley & Budd 2010, p. 727). |
