Taxonomy
Aquitanoscia maternus was named by Broly et al. (2017). Its type specimen is IHNFG-5017, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Mexican amber, Los Pocitos (IHNFG collection), which is in a Miocene terrestrial amber in Mexico.
