Taxonomy
Cyphaspis horani was named by Etheridge and Mitchell (1893). Its type specimen is A. M. f. 28354 [lectotype chosen by Chatterton 1971], an exoskeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Otarion (Otarion) horani by Chatterton (1971).
