Taxonomy
Paraperaspis dawangouensis was named by Zhou et al. (2014). Its type specimen is NIGP 155246, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Collection NJ374, Dawangou, northwestern Tarim Basin, which is in a Sandbian basinal (siliciclastic) mudstone/lime mudstone in the Saergan Formation of China. It is the type species of Paraperaspis.
