Taxonomy
Amphilichas obtusicaudatus was named by Troedsson (1929). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Cape Calhoun Coll No 254, a pygidium.
It was recombined as Uripes obtusicaudatus by Thomas and Holloway (1988).
