Taxonomy
Cheirurus trispinosus was named by Young (1868). Its type specimen is HM A52/1 [lectotype selected by Lane 1971], a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Youngia trispinosus by Lane (1971).
