Taxonomy
Acernaspis xynon was named by Howells (1982). Its type specimen is BM In44521, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Woodland Point, which is in a Rhuddanian marine sandstone/siltstone in the Woodland Formation of the United Kingdom.
