Taxonomy
Portlockia apiculata was named by McCoy (1851). Its type specimen is SMA 10962 [lectotype selected by Harper 1947], a cephalon/head, and it is a mold.
It was recombined as Phacops apiculatus by Salter (1853); it was recombined as Scotiella apiculata by Harper (1947); it was recombined as Kloucekia apiculata by Dean (1961).
