Taxonomy
Lichas (Ceratolichas) gryps was named by Hall and Clarke (1888). Its type specimen is NYSM 4552, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Ceratolichas gryps by Phleger (1936), Phleger (1937), Thomas and Holloway (1988).
