Taxonomy
Rheodytes devisi was named by Thomson (2000). Its type specimen is QM 16-1106B, a partial shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Darling Downs, which is in a Pleistocene terrestrial horizon in Australia. It is the type species of Rheodytes.
