Trionyx admirabilis
Taxonomy
Conchochelys admirabilis was named by Hay (1905). Its type specimen is AMNH 6090, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Coal Creek Canyon, which is in a Puercan terrestrial horizon in New Mexico. It is the type species of Conchochelys.
It was recombined as Axestemys admirabilis by Hutchison and Holroyd (2003); it was recombined as Trionyx admirabilis by Vitek and Joyce (2015).
