Taxonomy
Sphaerophthalmus flagellifer was named by Angelin (1854). Its type specimen is SGU5510, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Ctenopyge flagellifera by Westergård (1922); it was recombined as Ctenopyge (Eoctenopyge) flagellifera by Henningsmoen (1957).
