Helcionella histosia

Helcionelloida - Helcionellidae

Taxonomy
Helcionella histosia was named by Jacquet and Brock (2016) [Univalve patelliform shell, lowtomoderate profile with eccentric blunt apex; 60–74° angle of inclination. Maximum shell length greater than 10 mm, apertural outline sub-rectangular and elongate with parallel lateral margins. First order ornament consists of a maximum of 15 sharp angular or stepped concentric rugae; increasing in height from the apex. Second order radial ribs (45–105 μm wide) intersect the rugae perpendicularly to form distinct cross-hatched ornament, with between 3 and 6 radial ribs per millimetre in apertural rugae.]. Its type specimen is SAM P50856, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
