Mammalia - Cetacea - Eoplatanistidae

Taxonomy
Zignodelphis miocaenus was named by Pilleri (1989) [Pilleri (1989) implies that this is a replacement name for Schizodelphis sulcatus, but this is far from clear.]. Its type specimen is IGUP Nr. 26 154, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Libano, which is in an Aquitanian marine sandstone in the Libano Sandstone Formation of Italy.
