Cythereis catahoulana was named by Howe and Chambers (1935) [Author: Howe and Pyeatt in Howe and Chambers as Cythereis ? catahoulana ]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Danville Landing on the Ouachita River, which is in an Eocene marginal marine horizon in Louisiana.
