Liopistha (Psilomya) hardingensis

Taxonomy
Homomya hardingensis was named by Packard (1922). Its type specimen is UCMP 12291 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP loc. 2134, Santa Ana Mountains, which is in a Turonian/Campanian marine horizon in the Ladd Formation of California.

It was recombined as Liopistha (Psilomya) hardingensis by Popenoe (1937).

E. L. Packard 1922Shell large, equivalve; inequilateral; posterior extremity elongated,
evenly rounded; anterior extremity broadly rounded. Umbones very tumid, the beaks being distant and markedly curved anteriorly . Shell ornamented on the umbones, at least, by fine, smooth, equidistant concentric ridges. Length of type, 100 mm.; height, about 75 mm. ; diameter, 70 mm.
