Taxonomy
Paratoceras coatesi was named by Rincón et al. (2015). Its type specimen is UF 223585, a partial skull (incomplete skull), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Escobar Hill, which is in a Hemingfordian delta plain sandstone in the Cucaracha Formation of Panama.
