Taxonomy
Olenellus sequomalus was named by Fritz (1972). Its type specimen is GSC 27341, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sekwi Formation - collection 73049, which is in a Cambrian marine limestone in the Sekwi Formation of Canada.
It was recombined as Elliptocephala sequomalus by Lieberman (1999).
