Taxonomy
Columba leucocephala was named by Linnaeus (1758). It is extant.

It was recombined as Patagioenas leucocephalus by Steadman et al. (2018); it was misspelled as Columba leucocephalus by Wetmore (1937), Bernstein (1965), Olson and Hilgartner (1982), Morgan (1994); it was recombined as Patagioenas leucocephala by Wetmore (1922), Clements et al. (2017), Oswald and Steadman (2018).
