Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
R. E. Ulansky 2015The medium-sized stegosaurus is 4-5 meters long, up to 700 kilograms in weight. Dorsal vertebrae twice as long as wide, broadened transversely at apex of spinous process. The lateral processes of the vertebrae are directed to the sides at an angle of 60 degrees, when viewed from the front. Of the five broad sacral vertebrae present, only 4 are firmly fused to the iliac bones of the pelvis. There are practically no holes in the ribs of the sacral vertebrae. The length of the humerus is 69% of the length of the thigh. Osteoderms on the back in the form of small triangular plates arranged in symmetrical pairs.
