Taxonomy
Podocarpoxylon prumnopityoides was named by Gnaedinger et al. (2017). Its type specimen is MCF-PBPH-223 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pilmatué, which is in a Valanginian fluvial sandstone in the Mulichinco Formation of Argentina.
