Battus integer was named by Beyrich (1845).

It was recombined as Peronopsis integra by Beyrich (1845); it was recombined as Agnostus integer by Barrande (1852) and Raymond (1925); it was misspelled as Peronopsis integra by Westergård (1936); it was recombined as Peronopsis integer by Hawle and Corda (1847), Henningsmoen (1952) and Palmer and Gatehouse (1972).
