Megapodius molistructor (pile-builder megapode)
Taxonomy
Megapodius molistructor was named by Balouet and Olson (1989). Its type specimen is MNHN NCP 600, a set of limb elements (left tarsometatarsus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pindai Cave, Nepoui Peninsula, which is in a Holocene cave claystone in New Caledonia.
