Microvaranops parentis

Taxonomy
Microvaranops parentis was named by Spindler et al. (2018). Its type specimen is SAM-PK-K8305, a skeleton (skeletal aggregation containing one grown and four immature individuals), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Beukesplaas, which is in a Capitanian floodplain mudstone in the Abrahamskraal Formation of South Africa. It is the type species of Microvaranops.
