D. Madzia et al. 2018 | A non-ankylopollexian ornithopod distinguished from all other non-ankylopollexian ornithopods via the following unique combination of characters: femur gracile (possibly as in Eousdryosaurus nanohallucis, but unlike in all non-iguanodontian ornithopods, rhabdodontomorphs, Tenontosaurus, Elrhazosaurus nigeriensis and Valdosaurus canaliculatus), femoral shaft straight in both medial and lateral views (as in Zalmoxes robustus and Z. shqiperorum, but unlike in non-iguanodontian ornithopods, Mochlodon vorosi, Muttaburrasaurus langdoni, Rhabdodon sp., Tenontosaurus, Eo. nanohallucis, El. nigeriensis and V. canaliculatus), insertion scar for M. caudofemoralis longus appressed to the base of fourth trochanter (unlike in all dryosaurids), in medial view the distal condyles do not extend the shaft anteriorly (as in all non-iguanodontian ornithopods, M. vorosi, Z. robustus, Eo. nanohallucis, El. nigeriensis, V. canaliculatus, and possibly M. langdoni and Tenontosaurus, but unlike in Rhabdodon sp. and Z. shqiperorum), intercondylar extensor groove relatively deep and narrow (similar to El. nigeriensis and slightly deeper than in Z. shqiperorum and possibly also V. canaliculatus; unlike all other rhabdodontomorphs, non-iguanodontian ornithopods, Dryosaurus altus and Eo. nanohallucis). |
