Taxonomy
Sula tasmani was named by van Tets et al. (1988). It is extant. Its type specimen is ANWC BS3322, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Sand dunes near Kingston, which is in a Holocene eolian sandstone in Norfolk Island.
It was recombined as Sula dactylatra tasmani by Clements et al. (2017).
