Daurosaurus was named by Alifanov and Saveliev (2014). Its type is Daurosaurus olovus.

It was synonymized subjectively with Kulindadromeus by Cincotta et al. (2019).

It was assigned to Hypsilophodontidae by Alifanov and Saveliev (2014), Saveliev and Alifanov (2016), Alifanov (2018).
