Taxonomy
Yarengia perplexa was named by Shishkin (1960). It is not extant. Its type specimen is PIN 1584/5, a partial skull. Its type locality is Yarenga River, PIN 1584, which is in an Olenekian terrestrial horizon in the Yarenskian Formation of the Russian Federation.
