Taxonomy
Psephoderma sculptata was named by Rieppel (2002). It is not extant. Its type specimen is HUJ-Pal. T.R.I 98, an osteoderm. Its type locality is Makhtesh Ramon area, which is in an Illyrian/Fassanian marine limestone/shale in the Saharonim Formation of Israel.
