Aracajuia antiqua was named by Rosenfeld and Raab (1983) [Antonietto et al. (2016) age data: Cretaceous, Aptian-Albian. Reference number: 64788.]. Its type specimen is T-6515, a shell (Carapace), and it is a 3D body fossil.
