Taxonomy
Cupulocorona rugosa was named by Donovan and Paul (1985). Its type specimen is SM A31004 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Prendergast Place and Lane, Haverfordwest, which is in a Rawtheyan carbonate mudstone in the Slade and Redhill Mudstone Formation of the United Kingdom.
