Taxonomy
Mespilocystites lemenni was named by Gutiérrez-Marco et al. (1996). Its type specimen is CP-I1 530 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is FBlIIB. Peña del Tormo, which is in a Berounian offshore slate/sandstone in the Fombuena Formation of Spain.
