Taxonomy
Irtyshogaulus minor was named by Lu et al. (2016) [urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:7B52DA62-8CF8-451D-9239-997EB27F3379]. Its type specimen is IVPP V 20328, a tooth (left M1), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is IVPP Loc. XJ200604, which is in a Shanwangian fluvial sandstone in China. It is the type species of Irtyshogaulus.
