Brodavis varneri

Taxonomy
Baptornis varneri was named by Martin and Cordes-Person (2007). Its type specimen is SDSM 68430, a partial skeleton (partial postcranial skeleton including vertebrae, ribs, and an almost complete right hindlimb), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is SDSM locality V9131, which is in a Campanian marine horizon in the Pierre Shale Formation of South Dakota.

It was recombined as Brodavis varneri by Bell and Chiappe (2016).
