Sauropleura scalaris

Taxonomy
Urocordylus scalaris was named by Fritsch (1883). It is not extant. Its type specimen is NMP M458, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Nyrany, which is in a Westphalian D lacustrine coal in the Kladno Formation of the Czech Republic.

It was recombined as Sauropleura scalaris by Baird (1964).

Synonyms
  • Ptyonius distinctus was named by Fritsch (1901). It is not extant. Its type specimen is CGH 3010, a skeleton. Its type locality is Nyrany, which is in a Westphalian D lacustrine coal in the Kladno Formation of the Czech Republic.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Urocordylus scalaris by Steen (1938).
  • Ptyonius bendai was named by Fritsch (1901). It is not extant. Its type specimen is CGH (unnumbered) (skull and partial skeleton). Its type locality is Kostalov, near Trutnov, which is in an Asselian terrestrial horizon in the Lower Rotliegendes Formation of the Czech Republic.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Urocordylus scalaris by Steen (1938).
