Taxonomy
Stromatocystites walcotti was named by Schuchert (1919). Its type specimen is USNM 66443 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is East Arm of Bonne Bay, which is in a Dyeran carbonate limestone/carbonate in the Forteau Formation of Canada.
