Taxonomy
Stoppaniceras rieberi was named by Vörös (2018). Its type specimen is HNHM M.98.26, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bed 116, Felsoors Section, Balaton Highland, which is in an Illyrian carbonate limestone in the Vaszoly Formation of Hungary.
