Haborodelphis japonicus
Taxonomy
Haborodelphis japonicus was named by Ichishima et al. (2019). Its type specimen is SMAC1390, a partial skeleton (a single disarticulated skeleton, an incomplete skull missing most of the basicranium, with both tympanoperiotics, right mandible, partial atlas, several (at le), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Haboro, Embetsu Formation, which is in a Zanclean marine mudstone/sandstone in the Embetsu Formation of Japan. It is the type species of Haborodelphis.
