Taxonomy
Oligodalatias jordani was named by Welton (2016). Its type specimen is LACM 115255, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LACM 4303, which is in a Rupelian offshore horizon in the Pittsburg Bluff Formation of Oregon. It is the type species of Oligodalatias.
