Barroisia was named by Munier-Chalmas (1882) [Sepkoski's age data: J Tith K Ceno Sepkoski's reference number: 941]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Sphaerocoelida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Sphaerocoeliidae by Finks et al. (2004).
