Postosuchus
Taxonomy
Postosuchus was named by Chatterjee (1985). It is not extant. Its type is Postosuchus kirkpatricki. It was considered monophyletic by Nesbitt (2011).
It was assigned to Pseudosuchia by Gauthier et al. (1989); to Poposauridae by Carroll (1988), Parrish (1993); to Paracrocodyliformes by Weinbaum and Hungerbühler (2007); to Rauisuchidae by Long and Murry (1995), Irmis (2005), Peyer et al. (2008); to Paracrocodylomorpha by Weinbaum (2011); and to Rauisuchidae by Nesbitt (2011).
