Eripachya ponderosa
Taxonomy
Neptunea ponderosa was named by Gabb (1864). Its type specimen is ANSP 4186 (lectotype) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is "Chico beds" - Tuscan Springs, Tehama, which is in a Coniacian coastal siliciclastic in California. It is the type species of Neptunea.
It was recombined as Eripachya ponderosa by Gabb (1869), Stewart (1927), Saul and Popenoe (1993).
