Thais (Thaisella) edmondi
Taxonomy
Purpura edmondi was named by Arnold (1907). Its type specimen is USNM 164983, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Head of Topanga Canyon (Arnold 1907), which is in a Miocene coastal siliciclastic in the Topanga Canyon Formation of California.
It was recombined as Tritonalia edmondi by Hoots (1931); it was recombined as Thais (Thaisella) edmondi by Addicott (1970).
