Norosiren zazavavindrano

Taxonomy
Norosiren zazavavindrano was named by Samonds et al. (2019). Its type specimen is UA-14.139, a maxilla, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ile Makamby, which is in a Tortonian coastal marl in Madagascar. It is the type species of Norosiren.

K. E. Samonds et al. 2019Alveolar process of maxilla dorsolaterally concave and thin dorsoventrally, but with dorsal side not pierced by apices of the cheek tooth alveoli. Zygomatic-orbital bridge short anteroposteriorly, with its dorsal surface crossed by a low, rounded, nearly transverse ridge [c. 14(2)] partly obstructing the infraorbital canal [c. 20(1)].
