Taxonomy
Scyliorhinotheca goederti was named by Kiel et al. (2013). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is USNM 544321, an egg (egg case), and it is a mold. Its type locality is LACMIP 5802 Bear Creek, which is in a Priabonian marine limestone in Washington. It is the type species of Scyliorhinotheca.
