Praeornis sharovi
Taxonomy
Praeornis sharovi was named by Rautian (1978). Its type specimen is PIN 2585/32, a dermal scale (flight feather), and it is a compression preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Aulie, Mikhailovka, Karatau [PIN Loc. 2585], which is in an Oxfordian lacustrine - large shale in the Karabastau Formation of Kazakhstan. It is the type species of Praeornis.
