Harpactocarcinus tumidus
Taxonomy
Harpactocarcinus tumidus was named by Woodward (1876). Its type specimen is BMNH 59539, an exoskeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wharekuri Creek, which is in a Duntroonian offshore shelf sandstone in the Kokoamu Greensand Formation of New Zealand. It is the type species of Tumidocarcinus.
It was recombined as Tumidocarcinus tumidus by Glaessner (1960), Feldmann and Keys (1992), Schweitzer et al. (2010).
