The original designation of the genus is spelled "Paleostauronema" but spelling Palaeostauronema is also used in the original paper
Taxonomy
Paleostauronema was named by Hurcewicz (1985) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fras-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is not extant.
It was assigned to Hexactinosa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Aglithodictyidae by Finks and Rigby (2004).
