Taxonomy
Desmatochoerus (Paradesmatochoerus) anthonyi was named by Schultz and Falkenbach (1968). Its type specimen is F:AM 72392, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tremain, which is in an Arikareean terrestrial horizon in Wyoming.

It was recombined as Desmatochoerus anthonyi by Stevens and Stevens (1996).
