Taxonomy
Firmacidaris neumayri was named by Nisiyama (1966). Its type specimen is IGPS 7152 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Togano-mura, which is in a Tithonian/Berriasian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in Japan.
